One year of vince capano goaltending

This month marks one year of Vince Capano Goaltending.

It’s hard to believe how quickly the last year has gone. What started with a vision for building a goaltending business has grown into an opportunity to work with goalies, families, coaches, and teams across the GTA — something I’m extremely proud of.

Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work with goalies through private and semi-private training, team practices, clinics, video work, and development programs. Every session, practice, and conversation has helped shape what Vince Capano Goaltending is becoming.

Most importantly, I’ve had the opportunity to watch goalies improve. Whether we are working on skating, positioning, rebound control, puck tracking, puck play, confidence, or simply competing for the next save, the goal is always the same: help goalies become better, more confident, and more complete.

A New Season of Growth

Year two brings new opportunities and an exciting next step for Vince Capano Goaltending.

This season, I’m expanding my role as a team goalie coach, working directly with teams and their goaltenders throughout the season. Being part of a team allows me to work with goalies consistently and focus on more than just technique.

Communication, preparation, confidence, compete level, puck play, recovery, and being a great teammate are all important parts of developing as a goaltender.

I want our goalies to know that I have their back, but I’m also going to challenge them. I want them to compete for every puck, battle for every save, and understand that mistakes are part of development.

There is no perfect goalie. The objective is to keep learning, keep competing, and keep getting better.

New Programs Coming to Vince Capano Goaltending

As the program continues to grow, I’m also developing several new programs that will be introduced through the Vince Capano Goaltending website.

Goalie Mentorship Program

The Vince Capano Goaltending Mentorship Program is designed to connect younger and developing goalies with experienced goaltenders who can provide guidance, support, and perspective both on and off the ice. The goal is to give young goalies another resource within the hockey community — someone they can learn from, ask questions, and look up to.

Video Review
Video Review will be another new service coming soon.

Goaltending is a position where small details can make a big difference. Video allows us to slow the game down, identify areas for improvement, recognize positive habits, and create specific goals for future practices and games.

This program will give goalies another way to continue their development away from the rink and learn from their own game footage.

Goaltending Consulting

I’m also developing a Goaltending Consulting service for goalie parents looking for additional support with their goaltending development. This service can include goalie development plans, practice structure, technical priorities, evaluation, and creating a more consistent approach to developing goaltenders within a program.

More information about these programs will be available on the Vince Capano Goaltending website soon.

Working With Teams

One of the biggest developments heading into year two is the opportunity to work directly with more teams and organizations.

This season, I’m working with goalies through team coaching and development opportunities with:

  • Mississauga Jets U12AA
  • Toronto Attack U12AA
  • Applewood Coyotes U12A & U13 Red
  • Lorne Park Wild U11, U12 & U14A
  • Port Credit U11, U12 & U14A
  • West Mall Lightning U14
  • Meadowvale Hawks U10

I’m also continuing to work with goalies through private and semi-private training, giving me the opportunity to work with goalies individually and focus on the specific areas of their game that need attention.

The combination of team coaching, individual training, video, mentorship, and consulting is something I’m excited to continue building.

Thank You

None of this would be possible without the goalies, parents, coaches, and organizations who have trusted me over the past year.

Thank you to everyone who has booked a session, brought a goalie to a clinic, connected me with a team, shared my content, listened to the Behind the Glass podcast, or simply supported Vince Capano Goaltending along the way.

I’m proud of what has been built in the first year, but I’m even more excited about what comes next.

There is still a lot to build, a lot of goalies to work with, and a lot of ideas I want to bring to life.

One year down. Year two starts now.
